Daiichi Life unit bids for remaining Challenger shares at A$7.94 billion valuation
The indicative offer of A$11.80 a share is 19.8% above Challenger's Friday closing price and remains subject to conditions, including due diligence.

Challenger said on October 19 that a Daiichi Life subsidiary had proposed buying the more than 79% of its shares it does not own. The indicative bid values the Australian investment manager at A$7.94 billion ($5.53 billion).
The bidder, TAL Daiichi Life Australia Pty, has a 20.36% stake in Challenger, according to LSEG. Its proposed price is A$11.80 per share, a 19.8% premium to the investment manager's closing share price on Friday.
Challenger said its board was reviewing the proposal. The takeover would depend on several conditions being met, including satisfactory due diligence, the company said.
