Germany-based Agile Robots plans to build between 1,000 and 2,000 small humanoid robots through a partnership with Nvidia, Agile CEO Zhaopeng Chen said. The project was among the European collaborations Nvidia announced on October 21.

At Nvidia's GTC conference in Berlin, CEO Jensen Huang argued that Europe's engineering capabilities gave it an advantage in robotics and physical AI. He urged the region to produce AI rather than simply use it.

Nvidia put its commitments to the European technology ecosystem at nearly $10 billion. The company supplies processors and software for robots. During the conference, Huang also demonstrated small, duck-shaped robots developed jointly by French startup Pollen Robotics and Hugging Face.

Separately, Nvidia presented DSX POD, a design for data center modules manufactured in factories using the company's Vera Rubin platform. Nvidia said deployment of the modules could take as little as two weeks, compared with six months.
