SGX starts planning for CEO transition without setting a date
Loh Boon Chye’s employment contract expires in mid-July 2027, while the exchange operator has reported record annual earnings.

Singapore Exchange is preparing for an eventual change in chief executive, Loh Boon Chye said on October 23. The exchange operator said it had not fixed a transition date, and no timing for his departure has been set.
In remarks delivered at SGX’s annual general meeting, Loh said he recently told the chairman to start succession preparations. He said the company’s strategy, momentum and leadership team gave it a strong basis for planning.
Loh has headed SGX since July 2015, and his contract continues until mid-July 2027. He is also an executive, non-independent board director. Before becoming CEO, he served on the exchange operator’s board between 2003 and 2012.
SGX reported record earnings for its financial year that ended in June 2026. Adjusted net profit reached S$759.5 million, up 24.6%, while net revenue increased 13.9% to S$1.48 billion.
The operator is pursuing further growth in securities, derivatives and foreign exchange as Singapore seeks to revive its equities market and attract listings. Measures introduced by Singapore include a 20% rebate on tax for primary listings and a framework permitting companies to list on both SGX and Nasdaq.
