Core Stack and Green Arrow Capital said on October 7 that they will spend more than €1 billion to develop 13 mid-size data centers across Italy over the next four years. Core Stack is Lazzari Group's digital infrastructure business.

The companies expect permits for the first two locations, in Cremona and Verona provinces, by the end of 2027. Those sites are scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2028.

The companies said renewable power produced at the sites will supply the facilities, while development will use an entirely Italian supply chain.

Projects in northern and northeastern Italy are further along. The companies said their development focus will subsequently shift toward the country's center-south.
