OpenAI rolls out interactive ChatGPT interface alongside GPT-6
The Intelligent UI feature adds calculators, charts and other interactive visuals, with controls allowing users to reduce their frequency.

OpenAI is introducing Intelligent UI, a ChatGPT interface that adds interactive visual elements to conversations, alongside its new GPT-6 model. The global rollout begins October 7, 2026, for subscribers to the Pro, Plus, Business and Enterprise tiers, with access for free and lower-cost Go users to follow.
The company said responses will incorporate elements such as buttons users can tap, task-specific calculators, charts with interactive controls and graphs that can be edited. OpenAI described the feature as a way to help people understand complex subjects. Users who prefer fewer visuals will be able to adjust how often they appear.
During a demonstration for journalists, product manager Aarush Selvan prompted ChatGPT to explain the lift generated by an airplane wing. The chatbot produced several diagrams illustrating the concept. Selvan said text alone is not always the most useful response for people seeking help with learning, recipes or travel planning.
OpenAI also demonstrated recipe illustrations, an explanation of bicycle mechanics, a hiking map covering several days and a calculator for personal savings.
