ASM International said on October 27 that it expects fourth-quarter revenue to beat analysts’ estimates and anticipates meeting its 2030 sales goal three years ahead of schedule, supported by AI-related capacity investments.

The Dutch semiconductor equipment supplier forecast revenue of €1.23 billion for the fourth quarter, with a 5% margin in either direction. Analysts surveyed by LSEG had expected €1.18 billion.

For 2027, ASM expects sales at constant currencies to exceed €5.7 billion, the target previously set for 2030. That compares with the LSEG analyst consensus of €5.41 billion.

Third-quarter revenue totaled €1.16 billion, above the €1.10 billion analysts had estimated. Degroof Petercam’s Michael Roeg said quarterly sales and the quarterly and annual outlooks were all stronger than expected.

ASM supplies equipment used to coat silicon wafers with extremely thin material layers. It leads in atomic layer deposition, which forms films an atomic layer at a time and is required for the most advanced chip models.
