The company says its current models do not fully meet the revised framework and is exploring training methods to help them absorb its principles.
Walmart commits about $6 billion to expanded Symbotic agreement
The AI robotics firm will add automation at 25 U.S. regional distribution centers and support Walmart’s supply chain globally.

Walmart said on October 29 that it had broadened its agreement with AI robotics company Symbotic, pledging about $6 billion over several years to add automation across its distribution network.
The expanded arrangement calls for Symbotic to introduce more automation at 25 regional distribution centers operated by Walmart in the U.S. It will also support the retailer’s global supply chain capabilities.
Walmart said the agreement is intended to improve management of upstream inventory for e-commerce, expand storage capacity and make the movement of goods through its supply chain more efficient. The retailer said those capabilities would allow it to offer a wider product selection, increase speed and replenish stock more reliably throughout its network.
The agreement extends a relationship dating to 2017, when Symbotic began helping Walmart automate its supply chain.
