Rivian raised the lower end of its 2026 delivery forecast on October 29 after its R2 SUV led the company's third-quarter vehicle sales. The automaker now expects to deliver between 67,000 and 70,000 EVs, compared with its previous range of 65,000 to 70,000.

The revision marks Rivian's second increase to its delivery outlook in 2026. The company did not disclose sales figures for the R2, which launched in June, but said the model accounted for much of the delivery increase from the second quarter.

Third-quarter deliveries totaled 19,248 vehicles, roughly 45% above the year-earlier level, while production reached 19,751. Those figures compared with 12,194 deliveries and 12,613 vehicles produced in the second quarter of 2026. Adding a second production shift in Normal, Illinois, was a major contributor to the increase.

Rivian posted revenue of $2.2 billion for the third quarter. Its net loss narrowed to $913 million from $1.2 billion a year earlier.

The R2 debuted with a starting price just below $60,000. Rivian expects a premium trim starting at $53,990 to become available later in 2026, with lower-priced versions scheduled for 2027 starting at $44,990.
