Some prospective investors have been approached about stakes of up to $500 million, according to a media report.
Meta buys AI coding startup Conductor
Conductor will shut its cloud service on November 20, while its founder says other core features will remain available until early 2027.

Meta has bought Conductor, a startup whose software coordinates multiple AI agents on coding projects. The acquisition was announced on November 4. Meta confirmed the purchase but declined to disclose terms or other details.
Conductor founder and CEO Charlie Holtz said customers would have something new to use in early 2027. Until then, existing core functions will operate as before, except for the cloud service. That service will close on November 20, after which Conductor will start deleting users’ cloud data.
Founded in 2024, Conductor launched its main product last summer. Its agents work on distinct portions of a software project simultaneously, with deployment options including the cloud, local systems and a user’s phone. The platform uses agents from outside developers, including Anthropic and OpenAI, rather than building its own.
Holtz said he looked forward to working with Meta chief AI officer Alexandr Wang and Nat Friedman, who leads product at Meta’s Superintelligence Labs.
Meta introduced its own coding agent, Muse Code, in August. The company has also acquired other AI businesses over the past year, including agent platform Moltbook.
