Shein plans €500 million expansion of Polish logistics hub

The retailer says the expanded site will have more than 10,000 workers and 6,500 autonomous robots by the end of 2026.

Online fashion retailer Shein announced on November 4 that it would spend €500 million expanding its logistics hub in Poland. The company said the investment is intended to shorten delivery times and make its European operations more flexible.

The expansion comes as Shein and Chinese rivals Temu and AliExpress adjust to European Union parcel charges introduced in July. The EU says the charges address unfair competition from online retailers.

Parcels valued below €150 initially faced a €3 fee. The EU raised that levy by €2 on November 1.

By the end of 2026, the facility near Wroclaw will have 6,500 autonomous robots and a workforce exceeding 10,000 people, Shein said. Customers in some markets will get goods held at the site within 48 hours.

Shein's European sales fell sharply during the second quarter, contributing to a decline of 67% in net profit.
