Jio's $3.2 billion IPO draws bids for more than seven times available shares
The offering values Jio Platforms at up to $108.3 billion, with trading scheduled to begin on October 28.

Investors sought more than seven times the shares available in Jio Platforms' $3.2 billion Indian IPO by October 23, the final bidding day. The offering is India's largest and billionaire Mukesh Ambani's first IPO in two decades.
Demand exceeded $16 billion on the assumption that most bids were submitted at the upper end of the 1,119-rupee price band. The sale had attracted enough bids to cover all available shares within two hours of opening on October 21.
Exchange data showed retail investors requested twice their allocated shares. Employee bids covered 2.5 times their allotment, while the portion reserved for existing Reliance shareholders was subscribed 5.7 times.
Anchor investors, including the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, BlackRock and Fidelity, submitted bids exceeding $25 billion for a separate allocation worth $854 million. That quota was reserved exclusively for them.
The IPO valuation of up to $108.3 billion could put Jio among India's largest listed companies by market capitalization when trading begins on October 28. Part of Reliance Industries, Jio is led by Akash Ambani, Mukesh Ambani's eldest son, and counts Meta Platforms and Alphabet's Google as investors. Its mobile network has more than 500 million users.
