Jev sets two-week adoption record on Vercel’s AI gateway
Vercel’s data shows TypeSafe AI’s decision model reached 35% of paid teams, nearly twice the reach of Sonnet 5.5.

TypeSafe AI’s Jev reached 35% of paid teams within two weeks of launch, setting a record for that adoption window in Vercel’s data. Its reach was nearly twice that of Sonnet 5.5, the second-most-used model.
The figures cover Vercel’s AI gateway, a service that provides access to models through a unified API, rather than the entire AI market. That view may undercount usage of providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic, which also offer their own APIs.
Jev entered limited release on September 15. It is designed to select among a small set of predefined outputs, a narrower task that allows faster, cheaper processing than alternatives such as Sonnet when classifying large volumes of data. Vercel adopted Jev early, replacing GPT-6 Luna in its harmful-command classification work.
The gateway data also showed open source models handling more than 70% of processed tokens while accounting for nearly 25% of spending. Spending on frontier labs increased tenfold, even as those providers represented a declining proportion of overall expenditure.
