CCC Intelligent Solutions shares rose about 11% in extended trading, but a media report said the parties had yet to finalize an agreement.

Software provider CCC Intelligent Solutions is the subject of advanced acquisition negotiations involving private equity firm GTCR and activist investor Elliott Investment Management, an October 9 media report said, citing people with knowledge of the discussions.

The report provided no financial terms and said an agreement had not been finalized. CCC shares gained about 11% during extended trading. Neither CCC nor the two prospective buyers immediately responded to requests for comment.

CCC supplies operations-management software to vehicle insurers, repair businesses, automakers and parts suppliers. A separate media report in August said online vehicle auctioneer Copart was discussing an acquisition of CCC.

A July media report said the Chicago-based software company was weighing a sale, had appointed Morgan Stanley to advise it and had approached possible purchasers, among them private equity firms.

Advent International purchased CCC in 2017 and used a special-purpose acquisition company merger to take it public in 2021. Advent sold down its investment through secondary share offerings, disposing of its final stake in 2025.
