The proposed sale would be its first US investment-grade debt offering in more than nine years, as technology companies seek funding for AI investments.
Dream launches with $17 million seed round for AI building design
Andreessen Horowitz led the funding for the startup founded by former Palantir executives. Its platform is being used on 10 projects in Texas and California.

Dream, a startup founded by former Palantir executives Andy Elder and Arjun Mathur, has emerged from stealth after raising $17 million in seed financing. Andreessen Horowitz led the round, with participation from SV Angel, XYZ and Zigg Capital.
The company is developing AI world models to automate design and engineering work for buildings. It wants to offer an alternative to established architecture, engineering and construction software, including Autodesk’s AutoCAD and Revit.
According to the founders, Dream has started selling the product to industry professionals and developers for creating building concepts and estimating costs. They said the platform is in use on 10 active projects across Texas and California.
Dream says its model was trained using data covering more than 100 million square feet of buildings, collected from U.S. permit archives. The company says its approach incorporates physics and construction standards, accounting for materials, load-bearing capacity and internal systems such as plumbing and HVAC.
Elder and Mathur studied computer science at Stanford, where they were roommates, and each spent a decade at Palantir. Elder oversaw product design for an 800-person team developing software for U.S. defense and intelligence agencies. Mathur was a senior vice president in Palantir’s commercial practice.
