Marubeni lifts profit outlook 9% and raises dividend forecast
The Japanese trading house expects record net profit of ¥630 billion for the year ending March 2027, citing stronger metals and energy earnings.

Marubeni Corp increased its fiscal 2026 net profit projection by 9% on November 4, pointing to improved earnings from copper, coking coal and aluminium assets and a strong contribution from its energy and chemical segment.
The Japanese trading house now expects a record ¥630 billion in net profit for the year ending March 2027. Its previous projection, issued in May, was ¥580 billion. Marubeni also lifted its forecast for the annual dividend per share to ¥125 from the ¥115 forecast in May.
Chief Executive Officer Masayuki Omoto said at a press conference that both resource and non-resource operations had helped improve profitability. He said Marubeni was on course to reach its fiscal 2027 net profit goal of at least ¥620 billion a year early. That goal formed part of the medium-term management plan announced in February 2025.
Omoto said the stronger results had prompted plans to add ¥100 billion to new investments and ¥20 billion to shareholder returns during the current fiscal year.
