Sesterce outlined plans on October 8 for an AI data center investment exceeding €10 billion in Finland. The French AI infrastructure group said an anchor customer is already in place.

The company chose a former paper mill in the central Finnish town of Jamsa for the development. The mill closed in 2021.

Sesterce plans to begin construction in 2026 on an initial phase providing 200 MW of capacity. A second phase is expected to raise capacity to 600 MW.

The group's broader ambition is more than 1 gigawatt of AI capacity across Finland over the longer term. Sesterce said it would use existing industrial locations, with development guided by market demand.
