Salesforce has agreed to acquire defense technology startup Rune Technologies in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at $375 million, according to a media report. Rune’s artificial intelligence software helps the U.S. military anticipate supplies needed and manage field logistics.

The deal expands Salesforce’s defense technology activities through Missionforce, which serves defense and national security agencies. Integrating Rune’s logistics data will broaden Missionforce’s work from administrative planning to battlefield operations.

In a blog post, Salesforce said Missionforce’s business grew 80% year over year. The company attributed part of that growth to a new U.S. Army contract worth $5.6 billion over 10 years.

Rune was founded in 2024 and has raised $30 million. Its backers include Point72 Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz and IQT, the CIA-backed nonprofit venture firm previously known as In-Q-Tel. According to PitchBook, Rune’s latest valuation was $127 million in a Series A round led by Human Capital.

Other Salesforce deals include its $1.2 billion purchase of Qualified and an agreement to acquire Fin, the AI agent platform formerly called Intercom, for $3.6 billion. Salesforce also signed an agreement to acquire Listen Labs, according to a media report. Salesforce did not provide a response to a request for comment.
