Blackstone expects speculative-grade rating for Anthropic after IPO
The investor previously expected an investment-grade rating before 2027, according to a media report.

Blackstone has told investors it expects Anthropic to obtain a credit rating in the double B range after going public, according to a media report. That would put the artificial intelligence company at the highest level within speculative, or “junk,” credit grades.
The expectation marks a change from Blackstone’s earlier forecast that Anthropic would achieve an investment-grade rating before 2027, the report said. Blackstone is the anchor investor in a recent $63 billion transaction to finance chips for the company.
The projected rating remains Blackstone’s forecast, rather than a rating already assigned by credit agencies. Anthropic has entered into large computing-power deals over the past 12 months, with its spending raising concerns among investors.
Anthropic has formally filed for an initial public offering. Both the company, which develops Claude, and Blackstone declined to comment.
