Leonardo orders reach €60.4 billion as nine-month revenues rise
The Italian defense and aerospace group said orders increased 28% from a year earlier, with its Iveco defense acquisition contributing around €6 billion to the backlog.

Leonardo said its orders surpassed €60 billion for the first time, reaching €60.4 billion in results covering the first nine months of 2026. The Italian defense and aerospace company reported a 28% increase compared with the corresponding period a year earlier.
Revenue grew across every sector in which the group operates, Leonardo said. Its acquisition of Iveco Group's Defence division, completed in March, accounted for around €6 billion of the increase in its order backlog.
Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Lorenzo Mariani said Leonardo was working to turn its backlog into increased capacity for production and deliveries. He identified platform integration, digitalization, industrial partnerships and targeted acquisitions as foundations of the company's strategic plan.
Mariani highlighted the GCAP fighter aircraft project, joint ventures with Rheinmetall and Baykar covering new vehicles and drones, and an alliance with Airbus and Thales aimed at establishing a European space operator. He also cited technological development of the Michelangelo Dome. The Italian state owns a stake in the listed group through the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
