Infosys shares fall after fiscal 2027 revenue growth forecast cut
The Indian software exporter lowered its growth outlook to 1%-2%, as analysts pointed to AI-related pricing pressure and tougher competition.

Infosys shares fell 2.7% on October 26 after the Indian software exporter lowered its fiscal 2027 revenue growth forecast to 1%-2% from 1.5%-3%. Most analysts had anticipated a smaller revision, with the upper limit reduced to 2.5%.
LKP Securities analyst Anshul Jethi said rivals were better positioned and that Infosys faced pressure from AI competition. He also pointed to clients building their own global capability centers, or offshore technology hubs, instead of hiring Infosys. Systematix analysts cited competitive pressure on prices, AI-related client demands for productivity gains and weak technology spending by retail and high-tech customers.
Motilal Oswal attributed the growth pressure to lower volumes, price increases that fell short of expectations, more offshore delivery and Infosys' withdrawal from a large European manufacturing contract. TD Cowen also identified macroeconomic uncertainty, competition and AI-driven productivity demands as factors hurting prices and volumes.
At 10:53 a.m. IST, Infosys traded at 1,136 rupees, down 1.5%. The Nifty IT index fell 0.2%, while the broader Nifty 50 rose 0.16%.
