Bedrock Robotics lands $600 million Series C for construction automation
The round values the startup at $4.1 billion as it expands deployment of autonomous excavators beyond pilots and testing.

Construction technology startup Bedrock Robotics raised $600 million through a Series C financing led jointly by CapitalG and Emergence Capital. The deal gives Bedrock a $4.1 billion valuation, coming two months after its autonomous excavators began commercial work.
Bedrock plans to use the funding to bring its technology to additional construction sites and build out field-support staffing and infrastructure. Established in 2024, the company has attracted nearly $1 billion in financing.
Its technology can be installed on existing excavators and other worksite vehicles to enable autonomous operation. Equipped excavators are working at a water treatment facility in Nevada and a Texas earthwork site run by Champion Site Prep. Another deployment involves Zachry Construction Corporation on a civil sitework project measuring 1.2 million cubic yards.
Haydon, a general contractor based in Arizona, is the latest partner. It intends to use machines fitted with Bedrock technology for projects involving data centers, healthcare facilities, advanced manufacturing, and water and wastewater.
The financing brought in new investors Temasek, Bessemer Venture Partners and US Innovative Technology Fund (USIT). Returning backers included Nvidia, Eclipse and 8VC.
A shortage of skilled operators is part of Bedrock’s rationale for concentrating on excavators. The company says learning to master an excavator requires at least five years.
