The early-stage discussions could also lead to a staff-hiring and technology-licensing arrangement, according to a media report.
Apple discloses Huxe hiring and technology licensing deal
Apple notified the European Commission on June 9. The filing leaves the employees’ identities, acceptance of offers and Apple’s plans undisclosed.

Apple has entered an agreement with personalized audio startup Huxe AI that includes job offers for some employees and a license covering the startup’s intellectual property on a non-exclusive basis. Apple disclosed the arrangement in a regulatory filing with the European Commission.
The arrangement is known as a reverse acqui-hire: a larger company hires startup staff and licenses technology instead of buying the business outright. Apple submitted its notification on June 9, but the filing identifies neither the people offered jobs nor whether they accepted. It also provides no details of Apple’s intended use of the technology.
Huxe had outlined its shutdown plans on May 21. The company said its app would leave the Apple and Google stores, service would stop and user data would be deleted. Its team said product development would cease as members moved to other work.
Huxe’s founders had previously worked on NotebookLM’s podcast features generated using AI. NotebookLM was recently renamed Gemini Notebook.
