Revolut Bank New Zealand has received registration to provide banking services in New Zealand, the country’s central bank said on November 3. The decision brings the number of registered banks in the country to 27.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand said Revolut had been operating locally as a financial services provider since July 2023. The bank belongs to the Revolut group, with London-headquartered Revolut Group Holdings as its ultimate parent.

An October disclosure statement showed the bank recorded an after-tax loss of NZ$4.9 million for the seven months ended July 31, 2026. It had reported a loss of NZ$3.5 million in 2025.

S&P Global Ratings assigned the bank a long-term issuer credit rating of BBB+ on November 3. The agency said its credit profile was weaker than those of New Zealand’s major banks because its local business was at the start-up stage.
