Prices charged for services between companies in Japan increased 3.7% in September compared with a year earlier, Bank of Japan data published October 27 showed.

The services producer price index recorded a faster annual increase than in August, when the revised gain was 3.5%. The measure tracks what businesses charge other businesses for services.

The BOJ monitors the figures to assess how far companies are passing higher labor costs into service prices. The data comes ahead of a two-day central bank policy meeting.
