Argentum AI, a cloud computing company backed by Super Micro, is discussing $5 billion in financing for artificial intelligence chips with a major private credit firm, two people familiar with the matter said on October 27.

One person said the funding would buy more chips for a data center in Poland that Argentum secured with DL Invest Group. The proposed borrowing is intended to finance chips rented to customers lacking investment-grade credit ratings. That person also said Argentum had secured contracted revenue exceeding $12 billion.

The discussions come amid tighter financing conditions for neocloud companies, which provide rented AI computing capacity. Separately, Nebius secured a $3.5 billion facility from Citi to support data center development and GPU purchases.

In May, Argentum signed an agreement worth roughly $2.5 billion with Boosteroid, a cloud gaming company, and DL Invest for a data center with 300-megawatt capacity. Argentum said at the time it was working with U.S. financial institutions and investment banks to arrange financing structures for future deployments.

Founded in 2025 and based in Chicago, Argentum is led by founder and CEO Andrew Sobko.
