Anthropic and AI infrastructure company Nscale are nearing an announcement of another $45 billion compute agreement, according to a media report citing people familiar with the matter. Those people cautioned that negotiations are continuing and details could change.

The companies previously announced a separate compute agreement worth $45 billion. A second agreement, if completed, would add to the series of large computing deals Anthropic has pursued over the past year.

The discussions come as both businesses pursue initial public offerings. Anthropic is still expected to list in 2026. Nscale is also seeking a listing, though a media report said investors have pushed back against its proposed $30 billion valuation.

Spending on AI computing agreements has prompted concern among some investors about whether the companies involved are committing too much money relative to their profits. Anthropic has continued pursuing such partnerships despite those concerns.
