Wabi said on October 29, 2026, that it raised $55 million in a funding round led by IVP, valuing the AI startup at $1.25 billion. The financing follows a change in the company's product focus toward a personal AI agent.

Founded by Eugenia Kuyda, who also founded AI companion startup Replika, Wabi initially let users create apps through prompts. It subsequently announced a shift toward an AI messenger, introducing the new approach as Wabi 2.0.

The company says its agent could create interfaces for users to complete tasks. Suggested uses for its mini apps include meal planning, restaurant tracking, fitness plans, date-night planning and customized trivia games.

The round also drew participation from Amazon Alexa Fund, Forerunner and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). Angel investors included Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke, former Yahoo! head Marissa Mayer, former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers.
