Visa said on October 27 that fourth-quarter net income increased to $6 billion, or $3.19 per share, as spending on its payments network grew. A year earlier, it earned $5.1 billion, or $2.62 per share.

For the quarter ending September 30, payments volume rose 9%. The measure tracks purchases by consumers and businesses through Visa's network. Cross-border volume excluding intra-Europe transactions increased 14%, an indicator of demand for international travel.

The FIFA World Cup also contributed to network activity by drawing visitors to the United States. The tournament took place from June 11 through July 19.

Quarterly net revenue reached $12.1 billion, up 13%. Visa reported record net revenue of $46 billion for fiscal 2026. The company collects transaction-processing fees and operates in more than 200 countries and territories.

Visa forecast net revenue growth in the low double-digit percentage range for fiscal 2027. It expects earnings per share to grow at a percentage rate ranging from low double digits to the low teens.

The shares declined more than 1% in extended trading after gaining 14.6% for the year through the latest close.
