Britain is slated for later deployment, while the partners have not identified other potential markets or set timelines for them.
Foxconn signals new collaboration with OpenAI
Chairman Young Liu said details remain unconfirmed. The companies previously agreed to work together on data-center equipment and other AI hardware.

Foxconn is working toward another collaboration with OpenAI, Chairman Young Liu said on October 30, adding that the companies would announce it after confirming the details. He offered no specifics about the proposed arrangement.
Speaking to reporters at Foxconn’s annual technology showcase, Liu said he had met OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman earlier that day. The companies agreed last year to collaborate on the design and engineering of data-center racks, components and other hardware for artificial intelligence.
Foxconn, formally known as Hon Hai Precision Industry, is relying increasingly on AI infrastructure to drive growth. The company said in August that cloud and networking products, including AI servers, generated 51% of second-quarter revenue, taking the segment above 50% for the first time.
Liu said Foxconn needs additional expansion in Houston, Texas, where it operates six factory buildings producing AI servers for Nvidia. He also rejected concerns that the AI industry was in a bubble.
Separately, Brand Cheng, chairman of Foxconn Industrial Internet, said more than 10 humanoid robots were already being used internally at the company’s Texas facilities. Foxconn plans to deploy them outside Texas as well, he said.
Presentation materials showed that the unit introduced two wheeled robot models in October: one designed for vertical lifting and another able to bend at the waist for assembly, loading and unloading. The unit is also developing humanoid-robot AI models using Nvidia’s GR00T foundation model.
