AT&T increased its forecast for annual adjusted earnings on October 21 after third-quarter revenue and profit exceeded analysts’ expectations. The company now projects adjusted earnings of about $2.40 per share, up from its previous range of $2.25 to $2.35.

Quarterly revenue reached $32.3 billion, a 5.3% increase from a year earlier and above the $31.69 billion estimate compiled by LSEG. Adjusted earnings were 65 cents per share, compared with expectations of 60 cents. AT&T shares fell 3.8% during volatile premarket trading.

The carrier is relying on bundles of internet and wireless services to support growth and retain customers. About 43% of households taking up its internet service also choose its wireless plans. U.S. carriers are increasingly using bundles and loyalty programs to compete for subscribers.

AT&T recorded 379,000 net additions among monthly bill-paying wireless subscribers, slightly below FactSet’s estimate of 379,300. It also reported record broadband additions, adding 442,000 fiber internet users and 327,000 fixed wireless subscribers.

To support its fiber expansion, AT&T reached a multiyear agreement with Corning worth more than $3 billion for fiber and cable supplies. It also bought Lumen’s fiber business for $5.75 billion in May 2025.

The quarterly results included a non-cash impairment of $2.6 billion connected with the planned $2 billion sale of AT&T’s wireless business in Mexico.
