U.S. President Donald Trump's Turnberry golf resort in Scotland has become the latest site of political protest, as it was recently vandalized with pro-Palestinian graffiti. The incident, which took place last month, saw slogans such as "Gaza is not for sale" and "Free Gaza" emblazoned across the resort. The protest group Palestine Action has claimed responsibility for the damage.
The vandals left a significant mark, digging up holes on the prestigious golf course and scrawling red paint across its walls. In addition to "Free Gaza" and "Free Palestine," insults directed at Trump were also painted. This act of defiance was reported on social media platform X, drawing widespread attention and further igniting discussions around the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Police Scotland has launched a full investigation into the incident. They are working diligently to identify those responsible for the damage to the resort, which stands as one of Trump's most prized international properties. Meanwhile, a separate but related protest unfolded in London, where a man waving a Palestinian flag climbed the Big Ben tower at the Palace of Westminster. Authorities are actively conducting enquiries into this event as well.
The protests come against the backdrop of a controversial announcement by Trump, who declared that the United States would assume control over Gaza. His plan involves resettling the over 2-million Palestinian population and transforming Gaza into what he envisions as the "Riviera of the Middle East." This declaration has sparked outrage across the Arab world, leading to demonstrations and acts of protest such as those witnessed at Turnberry.
