Trae Young Shines as Hawks Halt Suns’ Winning Streak

The Atlanta Hawks triumphed over the Phoenix Suns with a close 122-117 victory on Tuesday night, thanks to an outstanding performance by Trae Young. Young, who was listed as questionable due to illness prior to the game, delivered a season-high 43 points, leading the Hawks to victory at their home court. Despite Devin Booker's impressive 35-point contribution for the Suns, the team fell short, ending their three-game winning streak and continuing their struggle to secure a win in Atlanta since March 24, 2014.

Young's remarkable performance included six 3-pointers and an impressive 11 of 14 free throws. His scoring prowess was complemented by Garrison Mathews with 19 points and Onyeka Okongwu, who not only scored 22 points but also set a personal best with 21 rebounds. The Hawks' victory came despite the absence of forwards De'Andre Hunter, Larry Nance Jr., and Jalen Johnson, all missing due to injuries.

On the Suns' side, Kevin Durant made a significant impact with 31 points, scoring 14 of those in a thrilling third quarter. However, his efforts, alongside Booker’s, were not enough to secure a win. Bradley Beal also made headlines as he returned to the court after being temporarily sidelined due to a sore left ankle.

The loss marks a setback for the Suns in their five-game road trip. They are now focused on their upcoming game against the Washington Wizards on Thursday. Despite their recent defeat, the Suns remain determined to break their losing streak in Atlanta and regain momentum.
