Tiger Woods’ Achilles Injury Puts Masters Return in Doubt

Tiger Woods recently underwent surgery after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon while training at home. The 49-year-old golf legend experienced this setback as he prepared for a potential return to the competitive circuit. Dr. Stucken, who performed the surgery, confirmed that the procedure "went smoothly," and Woods is expected to make a full recovery. However, no timescale has been set for his return, casting doubt on his participation in the upcoming Masters Tournament, which begins on April 10.

Woods, a 15-time major champion, has not competed in a PGA Tour event since the Open at Royal Troon in July of last year. His plans to return at the Genesis Invitational in February were put on hold following the death of his mother, Kultida. He had been hoping to make his comeback at Augusta, but this latest injury may delay those plans further.

"As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured." – Tiger Woods

This injury adds to a series of physical challenges for Woods in recent years. He underwent his sixth back procedure in September, marking a decade of ongoing back issues. Despite these hurdles, Woods remains determined to return to form and continue competing at the highest level.

In addition to missing the Masters, Woods will also be absent from the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, which commences this Thursday. The golfing world eagerly awaits further updates on Woods' recovery timeline and potential return to the sport.
