A star-studded benefit concert is set to take place on Thursday evening at the Kia Forum and Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The event brings together renowned artists from various genres to support relief efforts following the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires. These fires have ravaged the LA area, becoming the largest ever seen in the region earlier this month. Nearly 7,000 structures were destroyed in the Palisades fire, while over 9,400 fell victim to the Eaton fire.
The musical extravaganza will feature performances from acclaimed artists such as Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, and Rod Stewart. Each performer will deliver two to four songs, providing a diverse range of entertainment for attendees. In addition to the impressive lineup, the concert will include special guests and emphasize the stories of those who have been impacted by the fires, along with the first responders who played a crucial role in controlling the infernos.
The concerts will commence at 18:00 in Los Angeles (21:00 in New York, and 02:00 Friday in the UK), with the shows starting about an hour and a half apart. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be streamed for free on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV. Additionally, it will be available for viewing in select AMC and Regal theatres across the United States.
Viewers will have the opportunity to contribute to relief efforts throughout the concert. Connie and Steve Ballmer, owners of the LA Clippers basketball team and the Intuit Dome and Forum, have pledged to match all donations made during the broadcast. The Annenberg Foundation is responsible for overseeing these donations, ensuring they are directed towards both short-term relief efforts and long-term fire prevention projects.
