Sara Davies Bids Farewell to Dragons’ Den for Now, Focuses on New Ventures

Sara Davies, a familiar face on the popular TV show Dragons' Den, has announced her decision to step away from filming for the remainder of this year. Although she will not participate in upcoming shoots, viewers can still expect to see her in the second half of the current series, which was pre-recorded. This move allows her to prioritize other commitments and explore new opportunities.

Davies, who made history by becoming the youngest female Dragon at age 35 in 2019, has been a pivotal figure in the Den. Over the years, she has invested in numerous entrepreneurs, bringing both expertise and enthusiasm to the table. Her passion for entrepreneurship and business development has been evident throughout her tenure on the show.

In an exciting development, Davies is set to host a new "high-stakes" quiz show on ITV called Time Is Money. This opportunity adds to her already impressive portfolio of television appearances, including roles on Strictly Come Dancing and hosting series such as Ultimate Wedding Planners and The Big Idea Works.

Her decision to step back also stems from her renewed focus on her business ventures. Born in County Durham, Davies launched her crafting company, Crafter's Companion, in 2005. She has recently resumed her role as CEO, emphasizing that this is her primary focus for the year.

"As a lot of you will know, I've taken up my position again as CEO of Crafter's Companion and my business is my big priority this year."

As head of entertainment commissioning at the BBC, Kalpna Patel-Knight lauded Davies as an exceptional Dragon. Her commitment to each business she invests in goes beyond mere financial support.

"As well as filming an incredible show, being a Dragon requires so much dedication and time behind the scenes as you join the life of each business you invest in."

Davies herself expressed fondness for her experiences on Dragons' Den and gratitude towards her fellow Dragons and the production team.

"As this last run of Dragons' comes to an end I have to say I've loved every minute of this series so far and I'm so proud of the businesses I've invested in this year!"
