Remember Monday, an all-female country trio, will represent the United Kingdom at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest. The band, consisting of Lauren Burne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steel, will perform their country-inspired pop song "What The Hell Just Happened" at the St Jakobshalle arena in Basel, Switzerland, on Saturday, 17 May. Formed in 2013, Remember Monday originally went by the name Houston. The trio met at a sixth form college in Farnham, Surrey, and quickly formed a bond over their shared love for music. However, due to another band with the same name, they decided to rebrand themselves as Remember Monday after releasing a couple of singles under their original name. Since then, they have been touring and producing singles and EPs, gaining experience and honing their craft.
The band describes themselves as "pop girlies with a lil bit of yeehaw," indicating their unique blend of pop and country influences. Their entry to the Eurovision stage will mark the first time a girl band has represented the UK since 1999. Remember Monday expressed their excitement about this opportunity.
