Nationwide Recall: Metal Contamination in Aldi’s Frozen Taquitos

Aldi has issued an urgent recall affecting 24,870 pounds of its frozen chicken and cheese products due to potential metal contamination. The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall on January 11, highlighting concerns about the presence of foreign materials in the "Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos." The products in question were produced between July and September 2024 and carry the establishment number "EST." along with the code "P-40327."

The recall specifically targets these taquitos, which have "Best By Dates" of 07/03/25 and 9/25/25. Bestway Sandwiches Inc., the company behind these products, discovered the issue after receiving a consumer complaint about a piece of metal found in the taquitos.

“The problem was discovered after the firm notified FSIS that it received a consumer complaint reporting that a piece of metal was found in the frozen chicken and cheese taquito product,”

To address any inquiries regarding the recall, consumers are encouraged to contact the Bestway Foods Co. QA Department directly at 361-1800 EXT.110. An example of the package label is available for viewing to assist consumers in identifying the affected products.

The FSIS urges consumers to check their freezers and dispose of any products matching the description of the "Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos" with the specified dates and codes. Aldi and Bestway Sandwiches Inc. are working closely with authorities to ensure all affected products are recalled promptly to protect public health.
