A lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court accuses NBA star LeBron James and his son, Bronny, of being involved in a car crash that allegedly injured two women. April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen claim the incident occurred in November 2022 on a highway in Littlerock, California. The plaintiffs allege that the collision caused them undisclosed injuries necessitating ongoing treatment and resulted in damage and depreciation of their vehicle.
LeBron James and his son have denied all accusations related to the lawsuit. Attorneys representing the father-son duo submitted a formal response on February 20. This response included 14 defenses to the complaint's allegations, one of which argued that any injuries or vehicle damage sustained by Lopez and McGillen were caused "by persons other than these answering defendants."

The legal response from James' team seeks a favorable ruling from the judge, including compensation for costs incurred due to the lawsuit. Lopez and McGillen's lawsuit, filed last October, asserts that the crash inflicted significant personal and vehicular damage. However, the absence of official reports from law enforcement agencies calls into question the veracity of these claims. As LeBron and Bronny James continue their careers as teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers, they also face this legal challenge that threatens to overshadow their professional achievements.
