He began his career working in production under renowned filmmakers Robert Zemeckis and David O. Russell. This collaboration led to his co-writing of the film "I Heart Huckabees" with Russell. After gaining valuable experience, he transitioned into directing, marking his debut in 2014 with the release of the zombie comedy "Life After Beth," featuring actress Aubrey Plaza. His marriage to Plaza in 2021 further intertwined their personal and professional lives.
Graduating from New York University with a degree in film, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of directing. His decision to shift from production work to filmmaking allowed him to express his creativity through unique narratives that captivated audiences.
