A ceiling collapse at Liberty Cinema in Wenatchee, Washington, left two patrons shocked but unharmed on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred during a screening of the latest Marvel film, "Captain America, Brave New World," at approximately 8 p.m. Fire officials confirmed that only two individuals were present when the ceiling came crashing down onto seats and the floor below.
Liberty Cinema, a historic theater built in 1919 and located 150 miles east of Seattle in Chelan County, temporarily closed its doors following the accident. The theater, known for its eight screens and a rich history, became a scene of chaos as debris rained down during the film's showing. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The cause of the collapse remains a mystery as fire officials continue their investigation into the matter. The theater's management has yet to comment on the situation, despite outreach from USA TODAY.
