Volumized updos were a standout trend at the 2025 Golden Globes, with celebrities showcasing a range of impressive hairstyles. Nicole Kidman captured attention with her modern take on the bouffant, crafted by celebrity stylist Adir Abergel. Kidman's hairstyle was one of the most talked-about looks of the evening, celebrating a nod to retro glamour with a contemporary twist.
Abergel's creation for Kidman relied heavily on hair extensions to achieve the desired volume and fullness. Using BELLAMI Hair 18" Silk Seam Clip-In Hair Extensions in the shade Golden Hour, Abergel skillfully added density to Kidman's hair.
"For Nicole’s hair, we drew inspiration from the iconic styles of the 1960s and 1970s, with a nod to the Studio 54 era," – Adir Abergel
Abergel emphasized the importance of using specific products to maintain and enhance the hairstyle's longevity. He applied Virtue's Healing Oil to achieve a high-shine finish, ensuring that Kidman's hair looked polished and sleek throughout the evening. To prepare Kidman's natural curls, Abergel utilized a Denman Brush along with Kristin Ess Soft Volume Blow Dry Brush, creating a smooth foundation for the updo.
The final touch involved adding movement to the ends of Kidman's hair using a 2-inch Kristin Ess Titanium Curling Iron. This technique contributed to the hairstyle's dynamic look, combining structure with fluidity.
Nicole Kidman wasn't the only star embracing voluminous hairstyles at the Golden Globes. Kathy Bates sported an ultra-puffed waved ponytail, while Angelina Jolie and Margaret Qualley showcased flowing manes accented by pushed-up poufs. The "bump" trend, a signature element of several hairstyles on display, added an extra layer of drama and allure to the red carpet.
"Obviously, using the right products that will maintain the look for a long period of time is incredibly important," – Adir Abergel
