Empowering Women to Embrace a New Life Abroad

That’s where Cepee Tabibian, founder of She Hit Refresh comes in. She’s on a mission to support women 30 and over. She helps get them through the nerves of embarking on an adventure overseas. As an immigrant with over two decades of personal experience moving to Spain, she’s delighted to help women like you reach their dreams of international living! Her comprehensive, robust platform has supported hundreds along this path, both publicly and privately. Her mission extends beyond just moving people. It’s about building a true sense of home and community in new spaces.

Tabibian, who has spent the last ten years living in Spain, knows firsthand how daunting it is to completely change your life. She’s turned her own story into an inspiring and educational hub for others. Coming of age in Houston, Texas, Tabibian always dreamed of going to Spain. As the daughter of Colombian and Iranian immigrants, she chased that dream by serving in different capacities throughout her career. She learned Spanish when she was 21 and began teaching English when she was 26. By 29, she was working on a master’s degree, but she kept finding her way back to Texas.

At 35, I attempted a second time, coming to Spain with a lot of apprehension and no real structure,” Tabibian remembered. “The positive shift was immediate.” This transition propelled her into an entirely new stage of life. It was at that place that she found a love of writing, content creation and community building.

Less than a year and a half after making the move, she created She Hit Refresh. This new platform is the community and resource hub for women planning and making these exciting transitions. It offers in-depth guides on specific visas. It provides masterclasses to equip women with the tools that they need to make informed international moves.

“Ten years later, I’m still living in Spain, and I’ve directly helped hundreds of women make their moves abroad,” Tabibian stated. Her long-term commitment has literally changed and saved lives. It has created a powerful support system for women seeking new beginnings in different communities.

Tabibian continues to share what she’s learned through her popular podcast. She sits down with successful expats who are making waves in their adopted countries. Guests like Mary Alice Duff and Denise Segler have shared their stories, enriching the community’s understanding of life abroad.

It’s not easy, she adds, highlighting how intimidating immigrating to a new country can be. She thinks that people everywhere are very happy to see Americans. “It’s true that uprooting your life is a big decision, but there are so many places that are welcoming to Americans,” she said. Of these countries, Tabibian points to Spain, Portugal, and France as being especially welcoming.

Foreigners are otherwise warmly welcomed by locals. This warm welcome has fostered a thriving expat community in Paphos, offering countless opportunities to connect with newcomers and feel at home. She explained. Her learnings show how these ecosystems can truly make a dramatic difference and smooth the transition for newcomers.

Portugal shines in Tabibian’s suggestions as the most welcoming country overall for expats. “It’s hard to find a country more open to expats than Portugal,” she asserted. She praises the local culture where “people here make time for each other, gather, and talk for hours.” This strong social fabric provides a warm and welcoming environment for newcomers seeking to establish their own ties.

The Netherlands takes second place overall, and deserves a special commendation for its welcoming attitude toward expats. Tabibian shows us that the country is more welcoming than ever. This welcome allows people to test their ideas out abroad without the risk of being cut off.

She Hit Refresh offers emotional support and helps build community connections. On top of that, it provides concrete resources such as personalized visa guides. Tabibian points out that the profession libérale visa is an excellent option for individual freelancers and small business owners. This visa provides them a wonderful flexibility that lets them do their work remotely.

“For the most part, the women I work with have no regrets about their choices to go abroad,” she said. If anything, many of them wish they had done it earlier, not later. This optimism describes the dreams of women who have made the jump to begin a new life abroad.
