Emily Hernandez Sentenced to 10 Years After Fatal Drunk Driving Crash

Emily Hernandez, a Missouri resident previously involved in the January 6 Capitol riot, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a fatal drunk driving incident in 2022. Hernandez's legal troubles began when she was charged with multiple offenses related to her participation in the Capitol breach, including entering restricted grounds and disorderly conduct. Her involvement in these events escalated when she was later charged with a misdemeanor for remaining in a restricted building.

The incident from January 6, 2021, saw Hernandez facing accusations of stealing U.S. property and engaging in disruptive conduct while parading inside the Capitol. Amid these allegations, she found herself facing a new set of charges following a tragic car crash on Interstate 44 in Franklin County, Missouri.

In January 2022, Emily Hernandez was arrested after causing a fatal accident while driving under the influence. The crash claimed the life of Victoria Wilson, a 32-year-old resident of St. Clair, Missouri, and left her husband Ryan Wilson, 36, with serious injuries. The charges against Hernandez included driving while intoxicated (DWI) resulting in death and serious physical injury. She pleaded guilty to these charges in November 2024.

Despite receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump for her involvement in the Capitol riot, Hernandez still faced severe consequences for her actions on the road. The court handed down a 10-year prison sentence as a result of the drunk driving incident that led to Victoria Wilson's untimely death.
