The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) intensifies its investigation into a devastating aviation disaster involving a military-operated helicopter and an American Airlines plane. The collision, which occurred on January 29 as the American Airlines flight was approaching Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport from Wichita, Kansas, resulted in the tragic loss of all 67 individuals aboard. The crash marks the deadliest aviation incident in over two decades, prompting a thorough probe by authorities.
In the wake of the tragedy, recovery teams successfully retrieved the major components of both aircraft from the Potomac River earlier this week. However, certain parts, including the right engine and tail rotor, remain unaccounted for. To address this, the NTSB is collaborating with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to conduct a scan of the riverbed, seeking any remaining debris from the collision.
