Remember Monday Faces Double Loss After Eurovision Performance

Recall Monday, the UK’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest, had a tough weekend after their performance in Basel. HER-BAND, comprising of Holly-Anne Hull and her sixth-form college mates, placed an impressive equal 10th in the jury vote. They didn’t resonate with the public and did not score a single point from audience members.

The duo’s song, “What The Hell Just Happened,” garnered a total of 88 points on Saturday night, all attributed to the jury’s votes. This blatant hypocrisy from their public facing reception has shocked both fans and critics. Mark Savage commented on their performance, stating that they “hit every harmony in their song… with pinpoint precision,” while acknowledging that they “got a lot of things right.”

In a video post we shared the next morning after their gripping performance, Holly-Anne Hull disclosed some alarming news. To add insult to injury, she revealed that she lost her original wedding and engagement ring. I’m going to just crumble! I’ve lost my wedding ring,” she said of the tough emotional burden it’s leaving for her.

Even with such a chaotic result at Eurovision, Remember Monday are hopeful for what comes next. The band, which formed over 12 years ago during their studies in performing arts at a college in Farnborough, quit their jobs in late 2023 to pursue their music career full-time. Since being announced as the UK’s Eurovision entry in March, they have been focused on establishing themselves in the music scene.

Similarly, their recent track “What The Hell Just Happened” perfectly immerses listeners in the pandemonium of a rager turned beast. Its narratives of mislaid keys, ruptured stilettos, and crashing home with a face full of war paint still intact. The showstopper pair glimmered, as usual, in Bridgerton-style vibrant gowns. With some particularly high-energy dancing, they performed vividly around a large chandelier, giving a fantastic visual aesthetic to their performance.

Looking forward, Remember Monday will be featured in marquee slots at some of the biggest festivals, symposiums and events this summer. See them next at the Capital Summertime Ball, Latitude Festival & the Isle of Wight Festival! They approach the struggles and successes, the ebbs and flows, of their expanding trades with confidence. Their loyalty to their music and to one another never wavers.

“This has been one of the most surreal and emotional moments of our lives.” – Remember Monday
