S. Martinelli & Company released a recall last week of its well-known Martinelli’s apple juice for possible mold exposure. The first recall was on March 18th, 2025. The recall was recently upgraded to a Class II by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) — a move that raises an already alarming situation to another level. This classification is the second most serious recall category. It has on its household hazardous products list products that expose consumers to “temporary” or “reversible” health effects.
The recall covers Martinelli’s four-packs of 10-ounce apple juice bottles, which are sold in round glass containers. The recall impacts 7,234 total cases. Recalled with the most caution. As a result of this recent reaction, the company is moving to address consumer safety quickly. Consumers can identify the affected products by looking for the UPC code: 0 41244 04102 2, as well as the Best By Date of 05DEC2026.
Contaminated apple juice distribution includes 29 states. These are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. Now the company is encouraging consumers in these states to take a look inside their pantries. Consumers should check all products that could be covered by this recall, given the large distribution range.
If you have questions or concerns about the recall, please feel free to reach out to Martinelli’s. You can contact them via their shortcode customer service portal or by calling 800-662-1868. The company takes this issue seriously and is dedicated to sharing important information that consumers need to make the right decisions as they navigate this unprecedented landscape.
The company released a recall announcement on April 25, 2025. This move is the latest example of their willingness to lead on issues of public health concern that could be associated with their product. Martinelli’s recent work is a testament to a commitment to consumer safety and transparency in the midst of this crisis.
