Chris Stark, co-host of Capital FM’s Breakfast Show, has recently been diagnosed with testicular cancer. Alongside his work at RMT, he hosts That Peter Crouch Podcast. The diagnosis followed her routine doctor’s visit just two months ago. Fortunately, the cancer was caught early, enabling prompt and effective treatment. After her surgery, Stark was on preventative chemotherapy so the disease wouldn’t return.
Stark has been off the air over the last several weeks to receive chemotherapy treatments. The 38-year-old radio talent is due back Tuesday on the airwaves. His co-hosts, Jordan North and Siân Welby, have backed him every step of the way. Welby hailed Stark’s bravery, saying, “I’ve never seen anyone face something with such grace and guts."
Prior to his current roles, Stark spent a decade co-presenting on BBC Radio 1 alongside Scott Mills, before leaving in 2022. Mills said he was in awe of Stark’s willingness to share his diagnosis, which he stated was "so, so amazing." Stark has been open about his ongoing journey on social media, inspiring and educating those around him about the need for early detection.
"The reason I want to share this is that I feel like an idiot that I didn't spot this sooner," said Chris Stark.
Though it has been a difficult journey, Stark’s initiative in taking charge of his health has resulted in a triumphant return to wellness. Because his lymphoma was diagnosed and treated quickly, he is fully cured and back to his first love—TV broadcasting.
