Nathan Osman, a 30-year-old from Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, tragically passed away during a holiday in Benidorm, Spain, in September 2024. He had joined his friends on a last-minute decision and arrived in the popular tourist town only to meet a mysterious fate less than 24 hours later. His body was found at the foot of a remote cliff on the outskirts of Benidorm.
Nathan's family has expressed deep concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death. They believe that the investigation into his demise has been inadequate. In pursuit of answers, they have been tirelessly tracing his last known movements and are seeking more details about the hours leading up to his death.
The Spanish authorities have agreed to meet with Nathan's family to discuss these concerns. However, Nathan's family continues to face significant challenges in obtaining critical information. During a video call with a friend, Nathan's phone battery ran out, leaving his family with a gap in understanding his final moments. They have also located other premises with CCTV footage but have hit roadblocks as owners refuse to release recordings without official requests from Spanish authorities.
"Our boy deserves answers and we as a family deserve answers." – Nathan's mother Elizabeth
Elizabeth Osman, Nathan's mother, has been vocal about the lack of progress in the investigation. She identified her son by being shown a photo of a tattoo on his torso, a moment she describes as heart-wrenching. The family strongly believes that Nathan was taken to the remote location against his will, as there were attempts to use his bank cards the day after his death.
"Nathan wasn't a drunkard who'd go out and forget about everything. Nathan was really with it." – Nathan's mother Elizabeth
"Not knowing about that last hour or two before his death, it's eating us away, day in day out, from the time we get up to the time we go to bed. We live this nightmare." – Nathan's mother Elizabeth
Nathan's father, Jonathan Osman, shares his wife's frustration, asserting that the Spanish police have not done enough to investigate their son's death.
"They've done nothing, nothing at all. It's just a total disregard for his life in every kind of way." – Nathan's father Jonathan
Lee Osman, Nathan's brother, is equally resolute in his pursuit of the truth. He accuses the authorities of conducting no investigation and vows to continue fighting for answers.
"There's been zero investigation and we are fighting for answers." – Lee Osman (Nathan's brother)
"We'll keep going and going until we find out why – and how he got up there," – Lee Osman (Nathan's brother)
The family believes strongly that Nathan's presence at the cliff was not voluntary.
"We strongly believe he was taken up there, whether it was by taxi or against his own will," – Lee Osman (Nathan's brother)
In their relentless quest for justice, Nathan's family is flying to Benidorm to present all the information they have gathered. They hope to gain insight into the investigation's progress and encourage local authorities to delve deeper into the case.
