Perth Secures Thrilling Combat Sports Deal Through 2026

Perth is set to become the epicenter of combat sports in Australia, as the UFC and WWE announce a landmark four-event deal that will see a series of high-profile matches hosted at the RAC Arena. This new agreement, forged with the support of the Western Australia government and TKO, will span until the end of 2026.

The partnership aims to establish Perth as the nation's primary hub for combat sports. With a dedicated fan base for both UFC and WWE, the events are expected to draw thousands of out-of-state visitors, significantly boosting the local economy. The Western Australia premier, Roger Cook, emphasized the importance of this deal during a recent announcement.

"The return of UFC and WWE in 2025 is a major coup for Western Australia, following the roaring success of UFC 284 and WWE Elimination Chamber that collectively injected nearly $50 million into our economy last year," – Western Australia premier Roger Cook.

This year will kick off with a UFC Fight Night event, which was negotiated under a previous agreement with the Western Australian government. Fans can anticipate an exciting lineup, although specific details regarding ticket sales and bout cards will be released in the coming months.

In addition to the UFC Fight Night, the deal includes three WWE events over the next 20 months. These will feature a SmackDown show, a Premium Live Event, and a Raw event, further diversifying the combat sports offerings in Perth.

A key highlight of this deal is the planned UFC pay-per-view event, which will be scheduled for a yet-to-be-determined date. This move marks a significant milestone for Perth as it enhances its profile in the global combat sports landscape.

The collaboration between TKO and the Western Australia government aligns with broader efforts to promote tourism and local engagement through major sporting events. The influx of visitors is anticipated to create opportunities for local businesses and stimulate economic growth in the region.
