Caity Baser Embraces New Musical Journey: A Dive into Emotional Depths

Caity Baser, a rising star in the music industry, is embarking on a transformative journey in her career. Known for her carefree and vibrant persona, Baser is now ready to explore a more emotional side of her music. This shift in her artistic direction is both exciting and daunting for the 22-year-old singer, who has built her brand on projecting a fun-loving image. With hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, Baser's evolution marks a "new chapter" as she seeks to share deeper, more personal stories with her audience.

Baser's earlier hits like "Friendly Sex," "Why Can't I Have Two," and "I'm A Problem" presented a lively, carefree version of herself. However, she admits that these tracks were masking something much deeper. Reflecting on her past work, she acknowledges that while it "made sense to me at the time," she now feels the need for her fans to understand that there's more to her than just the upbeat facade. As she explains, this realization comes with its own set of challenges: opening up after establishing a brand based on youthful exuberance is "scary."

"How I presented myself – crazy, loud, being a nutter, that is who I am but I'm also sensitive," said Caity Baser.

Baser released her EP "Still Learning" last summer, marking the beginning of this introspective journey. Her latest track, "Watch That Girl (She's Gonna Say It)," captures her current emotional state, characterized by feelings of sadness and confusion. This song represents her efforts to find a balance between maintaining authenticity and providing escapism for her fans. For Baser, this balance is crucial as she navigates the complexities of expressing multiple facets of her personality.

"I didn't want to feel like I had to switch it on. I want to express all sorts of emotions rather than just one," she shared.

The transition from a lighthearted image to tackling more profound themes has not been easy for Baser. She acknowledges the impact of trying to hide from deeper emotions, which eventually began to take its toll. Her new music delves into difficult topics such as a challenging childhood, fractious parental relationships, and heartbreak. Baser's willingness to be vulnerable marks a significant shift in her artistic narrative.

"With Brat summer and my old era, it was so much fun going out and wearing these outfits, but there comes a point where you have to go home, leave the party and deal with stuff," Baser reflected.

Despite the challenges, Baser is committed to staying true to herself while also catering to her fans' desire for entertainment.

"I'm having a Brat time all the time, I'm a crazy girl, but it's just about finding a happy medium," she explained.

As she continues to evolve as an artist, Baser emphasizes the importance of self-care and introspection.

"I'm really big at keeping my peace right now and staying at home," she noted.
